Benoit Hucq holds a master’s degree in geographic sciences and a master’s degree in computer science. Since 2015, he has been the General Director of the Agence du Numérique, a public limited company responsible for inspiring and implementing Wallonia’s digital policy. In this capacity, he oversees the regional programme “Digital Wallonia.” His dedication to the development of digital technology in Wallonia is further demonstrated by his roles as Vice President and President of the non-profit organizations Infopôle (a business cluster) and CETIC (a research centre in ICT) from 2006 to 2014. Previously, he held various managerial positions in private groups such as Siemens, Océ, and Canon. From 1999 to 2014, he served as a site and R&D programme manager in the software products sector. He also has experience coordinating international R&D activities, involving Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and Romania.
