Vanessa Ling’s career at Proximus is marked by her leadership in advancing privacy practices and her strategic approach to embedding privacy into the company’s governance. Her work has not only strengthened privacy protection but also enabled Proximus to adapt to evolving privacy requirements. Ling’s journey at Proximus began with a law degree and a career in international media, where she gained a mix of law and business experience. She joined Proximus as an executive advisor and later moved into the legal team, where she became a key figure in consumer protection, media rights, IP protection, and privacy. Her role as Head of Group Data at Proximus showcases her expertise and dedication to the field of privacy. Vaness was the first recipient of Belgium’s Privacy Professional Award.
